We have all been there. Your kid is pitching the biggest fit ever in the mall, you look up and there is some young girl staring at you. You know she is thinking "Oh my gosh, like really? My kids will never act like that!". At first you are mad and want to go over and tell her a thing or two about parenting, but then it hits you, you know what she is thinking because that was you 10 years ago!!!!! AGHHHHH! Oh the things we have learned.
What I said.....My children will not throw fits and act like brats....
What I learned.....ALL children act like brats every now and then, especially in the places you don't want them to, like the grocery store and church!

What I said....My children will not trash my house!
What I learned.....Sometimes, you need to let them trash their room!!!

What I said...My children will not be picky eaters!
What I learned....Despite my best efforts, I have two very picky eaters, one sort of picky eater, and one easy going will eat whatever I set in front of her. Have I treated them different when it comes to food? NO! So one must assume this is the way they are because...they are different children with different personalities and that mom cannot control everything! If you don't like that explanation you can always blame it on their father! HaHa!

What I said.....In a way it is easier for mom's that work because at least they get a mandatory break from their kids....
What I learned.....I was a stay at home mom for 9 years, and after working outside of the home for 1 1/2 years I will guarantee you it is not easier, and you most definitely cannot count work as a break or an escape! Out of all the crazy things that I have said I am probably most embarrassed about this one.
